Mr Gys Burger was appointed as the Principal of Eversdal Primary School on 1 April 2023. 

Mr Burger was a learner at Bellpark Primary School and Bellville High School respectively.  After completing his Honours degree in Education, he started his teaching career at Bellville High School and was appointed at Eversdal Primary School in 2011.  Mr Burger held various positions at Eversdal Primary School over the years. From class teacher, internal departmental head, departmental head, internal deputy head, deputy head and acting principal before his permanent appointment as Principal. 

Mr Burger is adventurous, and he is always looking to explore new experiences. He loves to travel, read books and enjoy nature; whether camping, diving or enjoying 4×4 excursions. In the words of Albert Einstein: “The most beautiful and most profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical”.  To be mindful and use all our senses to see the beauty all around us, is the simplest moments where the greatest treasures are found. 

Mr Burger’s passion is to help people develop into the best versions of themselves. By creating a growth mindset that we can be lifelong learners and continuously grow, we can use our journey to benefit others. Every child must be seen as an individual within a family. The stronger the family supports the individual on its journey, the stronger the individual will develop to the benefit of the family.  With Mr Burger as our leader, every EverOuer, EverStaff and EverMaat in our community can align to create an environment that will develop capacity to change lives for generations to come.
